IMPORTANT NOTICE: No Zakaatul-fitr collection on Eid day event

For people intending to attend the The Companions Of the Mosque (COM`s) Eid in the Park Event please note:

We WILL NOT collect any money for Zakaatul–Fitr, End of Fasting Zakaht (Fitrana) on Eid day as it is a Fiqh issue, (please see this document for more information).

However, you can make your contribution at our Taraweeh venue. This collection will be closed on Sunday 24 Ramadan (Sunday 12 August) – in order to arrange for the money to be sent overseas and converted into food.

We will only be collecting COM’s fund on the Eid day – may Allah reward you all for your generous contribution and right it for you as an on-going charity.

Those who cannot attend our Taraweeh venue but want us to manage their Fitra Zakaht, please contact one of COM senior members before the closing date, Sunday 24 Ramadan (Sunday 12 August).

The 15th of Sha’ban…

Assalaam alaikum wa rahmatu Allah wa barakatuh

The eve of half of Sha’baan is great and significant but has no specific designated worship. Please note that we have no authentic evidence at all that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) specified any special action to be done concerning the 15th of Sha’ban.

1 -ينزل الله – عز وجل – ليلة النصف من شعبان إلى سماء الدنيا ، فيغفر لكل شيء إلا لإنسان في قلبه شحناء ، أو مشرك بالله
الراوي: أبو بكر الصديق المحدث: ابن خزيمة – المصدر: التوحيد – الصفحة أو الرقم: 326/1

خلاصة حكم المحدث: [أشار في المقدمة أنه صح وثبت بالإسناد الثابت الصحيح

Translated by Abdullatif (may Allah forgive him his errors) :

“Allah-all exulted all glorious descends down, to the lower heavens, on the eve of half of Sha’ban (the middle of the month), so he grant forgiveness for all except for a man who’s heart contains any enmity, or association with Allah”

Narrated by Abu-Bakir Assideeq, may Allah be pleased with him, transmitted by Ibn Khzaimah in his book attawheed 1/326.

– إن الله يطلع على عباده في ليلة النصف من شعبان ، فيغفر للمؤمنين ، و يملي للكافرين ، و يدع أهل الحقد بحقدهم حتى يدعوه

Translated by Abdullatif (may Allah forgive him his errors):

“Verily Allah-all mighty looks onto his slaves on the eve of half of Sha’ban, thus he forgives the believers, and he fulfills (the desires) of the disbelievers, and he leaves-out people who hold grudges until they abandon them”

Narrated by Abu Tha’alabah al Khushni, authenticated by Al-Albani in Sahheehh al Jaami’a No. 1898.
